Quantifit Respirator Fit Testing
During a fit test, the respirator inlets are capped with test adapters and the inhalation valves are removed from the mask. The test subject holds their breath for no more than ten seconds while the Quantifit establishes and maintains a slight vacuum (controlled negative pressure) inside the mask. With the respirator inlets sealed, leakage into the mask occurs through the face-to-facepiece seal. The volume of air drawn out by the Quantifit over that short period equals the leakage rate through the seal.
